Cruisin at 13
Because Maldives is expensive
And so is Bagan
While Japan requires a visa
So for our 13th month, we decided to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Ha Long Bay in Vietnam
It's not the cliffs themselves that make Ha Long Bay unique, but rather their sheer number. A huge bay dotted with nearly 2,000 mostly uninhabited limestone cliffs, both mystical and magnificent, an incredible feat of nature that almost never fails to impress.
Yes, it really is that good.
- from The Lonely Planet
For many, a cruise on Ha Long Bay represents the pinnacle of ones visit in Vietnam. So we did just that by booking a room in Galaxy Premium Cruises
Man, it was pricey but it's all worth it
Postcard perfect. The breathtaking view at the exit of the Sung Sot Cave
The Fishing Village in Ha Long Bay, one of the most fascinating cultural features of the area
About a thousand people live in boats and floating wooden houses. They have no home or land ownership
Houses are set atop barges year round, the inhabitants catching and cultivating fish throughout. Sail away boy.

What is spelunking? The Sung Sot Cave (Grotte des surprises) is a real wonder too. It's huge and we were such camwhores that it took us more than an hour to complete the tour. It felt like we were in the set of some movie.
The Huc Bridge (Bridge of the Rising Sun) in Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Restored Sword), Hanoi.
Feasted on Beef Pho
And fresh spring rolls
CHEERS!
